    Representative Hopkins and Senator Boldman,

Missoula County supports HB 6, Renewable Resource Grants up for hearing tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. in the House Joint Appropriations Subcommittee on Long-Range Planning. Thank you, Representative Hopkins for sponsoring this bill.

Missoula County submitted a Renewable Resource Grant, on behalf of the Buena Vista Community to the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation to partially fund the second phase of the Buena Vista Wastewater System Improvement Project.

DNRC Renewable Resource Grant funding is badly needed to assist this project, which has been estimated to cost $1,267,000. To meet the project budget, the community will need to secure up to $567,000 in low-interest loans. If a portion of those loans are forgiven, the monthly user fee will be $51.73 (lower than the $79.39 target rate). Even at $51.73, that fee will be a challenge for the majority of the Buena Vista residents. It is critical that we secure this DNRC grant funding to keep the user fees as low as possible.

    Please support HB 6.
