SB 7

LC0328

  1. Senator O’Brien,

Missoula County supports SB 7: Revise tax credit for energy-conserving expenditures, up for hearing tomorrow morning in the Senate Taxation Committee. Currently, the state offers a tax credit of 25% of the cost of energy conservation improvements, up to a maximum of $500 per taxpayer ($1,000 per couple). If passed, this bill would increase the maximum to $800 per taxpayer ($1,600 per couple) and would make the tax credit refundable, which would have the effect of increasing the incentive for Montanans to invest in energy conservation. Energy conservation saves Montanans money on their utility bills, contributes to meeting the state’s energy needs and supports Missoula County’s goals to address climate change and achieve 100% clean electricity by 2030.

    Please support SB 7.
