Missoula County supports HB 114: Revise privacy in communication exception laws, up for hearing tomorrow morning in the House Judiciary Committee. Abuse within relationships may be physical, emotional, psychological and/or financial. In today’s world of electronic-based communication, much of this abuse is carried out using the tool of a communication device, such as a phone with a built-in camera. Ensuring that a third party is held accountable if they participate in the abuse or harm of another is critical to closing a loophole in the application of the original statute.
