Generally revise election laws

    Representative Whitman,

Missoula County opposes HB 506: Generally revise election laws, up for hearing tomorrow morning in the House State Administration Committee.

HB 506 would not allow a ballot to be issued to a voter until they are 18 years old. Under Montana law, a voter may register to vote if they will be 18 by the next election. If an eligible voter was turning 18 the day before the election but was an absentee voter, they would not be eligible to be sent a ballot until the day they turned 18 and depending on the distance that ballot needed to travel, it would not allow them the opportunity to vote in an election they were eligible for.

    Please oppose HB 506.
