Missoula County supports HB 287: Provide that state pays postage for absentee ballot return, up for hearing in the House State Administration Committee tomorrow morning. If passed, this bill can help reduce barriers for voters. During the primary and general election last year, Missoula County saw an increase in voter participation in part due to prepaid postage being available for all voters. Some counties currently utilize prepaid postage for Municipal Elections which contributes to voter participation. This bill would help ensure that voters are treated equally across the state and increase participation in elections.
