Missoula County supports SB 264: Revising integrated least cost resource planning laws, up for hearing this afternoon in the Senate Local Government Committee. This bill would require the PSC to establish rules requiring utilities to conduct a fair and open competitive solicitation process when they want to acquire additional energy generation resources. This will protect utility ratepayers (including Missoula County residents and businesses) by guaranteeing a competitive process to ensure that utilities meet the state’s energy needs in a prudent manner.
